William H Myers, former Assistant Dean of Students at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, is
remembered as a great mentor and as one who made a tremendous investment in the development
of multicultural student leaders. He understood that those who would lead must always seek to serve
others; therefore, he embraced servant leadership in his professional and personal life. During his
tenure, he mentored student leaders, enlightened administrators and gave to his community his gift
wisdom and encouragement. Myers was an enduring leader with a sincere commitment to student
academic achievement and personal growth. He was a man of profound faith and touched all whom
he encountered with his influential voice and smile.

In recognition of his contributions and in honor of his memory, The Stuart Educational Leadership
Group has created the William H. Myers Multicultural Professional Service Award.

The Myers Service Award recognizes and honors the exceptional contributions of multicultural affairs
professionals in the preparation of student leaders, in the mentoring of students and colleagues, and
in service to their colleges and communities.

Faculty, staff, administrators, or students may submit nominations for this award; the nominations
must be received no later than December 1, 2010. Nominees must be in attendance at the 2011
National Black Student Leadership Conference.

A 500 word essay describing the work and accomplishments of the nominee and supporting
documentation, including two letters of support from colleagues, examples of programmatic activities
(e.g., program flyers, booklets, summary of program evaluations, news articles, etc.) and a resume or
curriculum vitae of the nominee must be submitted in support of the nomination
